Former Arizona Cardinals<\/a> quarterback Clayton Tune gets another chance at professional football this spring. The United Football League (UFL) is back in 2026 and held its quarterback draft on Monday. Tune was selected.<\/p>\n This season, there are some new teams, including the Columbus Aviators. The Aviators selected Tune as one of their three quarterbacks.<\/p>\n Tune was drafted by the Cardinals in 2023 in the fifth round out of Houston and was the team’s backup quarterback for two seasons. He appeared games and started once, and it was one of the worst performances by a quarterback the Cardinals have seen, as he was sacked seven times and picked off twice, held to only 58 passing yards on 11-of-20 attempts against the Cleveland Browns<\/a> his rookie season.<\/p>\n He beat out Desmond Ridder in 2024 to be Kyler Murray’s backup, but did not make the team out of training camp this year. He spent most of the season on the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad and appeared in two games late in the season but was cut before the playoffs began.<\/p>\n We will see if Tune does anything this spring, or if he gets another shot in the NFL this offseason.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
