Sean McVay doesn\u2019t fear the cold.<\/p>\n

When asked if he would be wearing layers for Sunday\u2019s divisional round matchup against the Bears \u2014 in which Soldier Field in Chicago is expected to reach a low of 2 degrees \u2014 the Rams head coach said the cold simply does not affect him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going shirtless,\u201d McVay said, per NBC Sports<\/a>. \u201cNo, you know what, I will say this, [quarterback] Matthew [Stafford] since he got here, he introduced me to the wetsuit stuff. I\u2019ll wear that. Maybe I\u2019ll have a heated vest. I\u2019ve had some guys that have had that. Here\u2019s what I do know, I can\u2019t think about too many things. I trust whatever [senior director of equipment] Brendan Burger\u2019s got ready for me. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to actually get with him after we get done with practice today. He\u2019ll show me everything that he\u2019s got. Usually, it\u2019s a thumbs up. I don\u2019t give a crap about me being warm or cold. That s\u2013t doesn\u2019t matter at all. It\u2019s about our players, but \u2018Burg\u2019 takes good care of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if the undergarments would affect him running down the sideline, McVay assured he is in good enough shape to not let it impact his coaching.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m an athlete,\u201d McVay said. \u201cI\u2019ll be in good shape, man. Don\u2019t you worry about me. We\u2019ll be good. Don\u2019t worry. What do you think, I\u2019m going to dress up like the Michelin man or something? No, we\u2019ll be good. All kidding aside, \u2018Burg\u2019 has always done a really good job of outfitting me and it hasn\u2019t been an issue. <\/p>\n

\u201cNow that I\u2019m not being too stubborn to throw a beanie on after my mom and my wife ripped me, we\u2019ll be in good shape there, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cold weather has sparked some questions for the Rams, with Stafford holding an abysmal 1-9 record in cold, rainy or snowy conditions since joining Los Angeles, according to Swift Sports Network.<\/p>\n

For Sunday\u2019s game, however, Stafford is heading into the frigid weather prepared, with the three-time Pro-Bowler \u2014 and 2025 MVP candidate \u2014 reportedly wearing a scuba suit under his uniform to keep himself warm.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is what it is,\u201d Stafford\u00a0told the Rams\u2019 official website<\/a>. \u201cWe don\u2019t care what the weather is here or what it is there. We just go play. We have to prepare and have a good week of preparation. We\u2019re going to do that to give ourselves the best chance to go out there and succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stafford, 37, is said to have taken the tactic from NFL legend Tom Brady, who used to wear wetsuits under his uniform while playing for the Patriots.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sean McVay doesn\u2019t fear the cold.
