The Carolina Panthers<\/a> might be looking to add a whole different dimension to their offense.<\/p>\n President of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan talked about the upcoming offseason on Wednesday\u2019s episode of The Drive with Tim Donnelly<\/a>. When addressing what moves may be ahead, Morgan was asked if he believes the offense lacked a \u201chome-run\u201d threat at the receiver position.<\/p>\n \u201cI think Jimmy Horn gave us a little bit of that element towards the end of the season,\u201d Morgan replied. \u201cI do think that\u2019s something that we are missing on our offense a little bit\u2014is where we can just get the ball out to a guy and he can take a 5-yard catch and take it the distance, or make a few guys miss and come up with a big play.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s another spot that I think that we\u2019ve identified and we\u2019ll be looking for in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n Carolina’s offense, which took a slight step back from their 2024 campaign, ranked 26th in passing yards per game (179.3) and finished tied for the third-lowest passing yards per attempt (6.4). The unit was also tied for the 10th-fewest completions of at least 20 yards (43) and the fourth-fewest completions of at least 40 yards (four).<\/p>\n Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.<\/a><\/p>\n Outside of Horn, who recorded 11 catches for 108 yards, the Panthers do not roster any true speed threats at the wideout position. While they do they have a few promising talents, such as Offensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner<\/a> Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker, the Panthers and quarterback Bryce Young could certainly benefit from a fresh (and speedy) skill set through the air.<\/p>\n
