The Wolverines got some reinforcements for their defensive front on Saturday when defensive tackle Enow Etta announced he would be withdrawing his name from the transfer portal and returning to Ann Arbor.<\/p>\n
The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder has been with the Wolverines since the 2023 season, coming in as a four-star recruit out of the state of Texas. After a true freshman redshirt season, he played in 10 games (86 snaps) in 2024 and compiled four tackles, half a sack and one pass breakup.<\/p>\n
Etta followed that up by playing in 13 games \u2014 and significantly more snaps, 295 to be exact \u2014 in 2025. He racked up 15 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, seven quarterback hits and one pass breakup.<\/p>\n
With Derrick Moore, T.J. Guy, Jaishawn Barham, Rayshaun Benny, Damon Payne Jr., Tre Williams and Devon Baxter all moving on this offseason, it was imperative for Kyle Whittingham to bring Etta back for next season. Grabbing an All-American pass rusher like John Henry Daley from the portal certainly helps, but having a player with experience on the interior like Etta makes a huge difference as well.<\/p>\n
