Head coach Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach one day later after 19 seasons at the helm.

Due to Tomlin stepping down, many believe that this also spells the end for Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh, as the four-time MVP cited Tomlin as the biggest reason for coming to Pittsburgh in the first place. However, per Adam Schefter, multiple Steelers have made it known to the organization that they want Rodgers to return in 2026.

“The Steelers players are more than open to Rodgers returning to Pittsburgh; they want the four-time league MVP back and conveyed as much to various members of the Steelers organization during their exit meetings last week, according to sources,” Schefter reports. “Almost all Steelers players praised Rodgers during their exit interviews, and most if not all of them want the veteran quarterback to return in 2026. His support among players was universal, and those around the organization pointed out how beloved and respected Rodgers was there.”

Rodgers will turn 43 in December. When he joined the Steelers, he made it pretty clear that he expected 2025 to be his final season, hence the one-year deal. However, in the final weeks of the season, Rodgers seemingly left the door open for a potential return.

Be sure to bookmark Behind the Steel Curtain for all the latest news, breakdowns, and more!

[2055
7,6,520,57,2374,2375,2360,426
0":"post-686810","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-pittsburgh-steelers","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-nfl","10":"tag-pittsburgh","11":"tag-pittsburgh-steelers","12":"tag-pittsburgh-steelers-news","13":"tag-pittsburgh-steelers-roster","14":"tag-pittsburghsteelers","15":"tag-steelers
["GET
