The Buffalo Bills<\/a>‘ season ended in heartbreaking fashion, losing in overtime to the Denver Broncos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Josh Allen once again failing in the postseason, this loss will take a lot to get over.<\/p>\n

But Sean McDermott’s future as a head coach should also be a question for some.<\/p>\n

Nine years as Buffalo’s head coach and no Super Bowl appearances.<\/p>\n

McDermott was on the coaching hot seat entering 2025, and now? Yeah, many think it’s the hottest it’s ever been.<\/p>\n

But I offer this question when it comes to McDermott’s future with the Bills, and it might dictate what transpires over the coming months.<\/p>\n

Has he taken Buffalo as far as he can?<\/p>\n

In nine seasons under McDermott, the Bills have been one of the most consistent teams in football.<\/p>\n

A 98-50 record is superb, but in the playoffs, McDermott is 8-8 with no Super Bowl appearance.<\/p>\n

With the head coach shuffle well underway this offseason, there are candidates if Buffalo wants to explore its options.<\/p>\n

One thing is clear for most: the same thing can’t keep happening year in, year out.<\/p>\n

Change might be needed in Buffalo.<\/p>\n

And that could mean Josh Allen as a new head coach in 2026.<\/p>\n
