Some questioned whether Colston Loveland should’ve been the first tight end chosen in the 2025 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

When the Chicago Bears<\/a> drafted him at No. 10 overall out of Michigan, there were those who preferred Penn State’s Tyler Warren, who ended up going 14th to the Colts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Warren had a great rookie season and looks like a future star.<\/p>\n

Loveland started slow and raised the volume of the questions higher.<\/p>\n

But in the end, Loveland closed his rookie season in incredibly strong fashion. His future is clearly bright, too.<\/p>\n

In the process, he set an NFL record. No rookie tight end had ever had more receiving yards in a single postseason than Loveland’s 193 — and that’s in just two games.<\/p>\n

After not surpassing 40 yards in the first six games of his rookie season, Loveland had 40 or more yards in 9-of-12 games the rest of the way.<\/p>\n

That included 118 yards and a winning touchdown in a wild win over the Bengals<\/a>, then 94 and 91 yards in the last two games of the regular season, then 137 yards in the Wild Card Round win over the Packers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Loveland shapes up to be one of Caleb Williams’ favorite targets for years to come.<\/p>\n
