ANN ARBOR, Mich. \u2013 A Michigan football transfer claims other players on the team blackmailed Sherrone Moore about his relationship with another staffer.<\/p>\n

Anthony Simpson transferred to Michigan last offseason after two years at Arizona and two years at Massachusetts. He arrived in Ann Arbor with 68 career catches for 910 yards and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n

But Simpson didn\u2019t have much of a role on last year\u2019s team. His only touch was a 10-yard carry in Michigan\u2019s 63-3 blowout win over Central Michigan.<\/p>\n

Simpson entered the transfer portal last week and had plenty to say about the situation on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Simpson said he was the best slot receiver and fastest player on the team. He said team captains were advocating for him to play more.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was treated unfairly due to Sherrone Moore being blackmailed by players and staff members, which jeopardized my opportunity to get on the field,\u201d Simpson posted on X<\/a>. \u201cI was denied fairness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore was fired as Michigan\u2019s head coach in December when the university learned of an inappropriate romantic relationship between him and another staffer. There had been rumors about the relationship in the past, and there are conflicting accounts on how much everyone else in the building knew about what was going on.<\/p>\n

Simpson is clearly implying that another slot receiver used knowledge about Moore\u2019s forbidden relationship as leverage to get more playing time.<\/p>\n

Michigan\u2019s starting slot receiver, Semaj Morgan, appeared to respond to Simpson\u2019s comments on his own social media, saying, \u201cY\u2019all let people tell y\u2019all anything and believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wolverines almost entirely cleaned house, only retaining Tony Alford, Lou Esposito, Fred Jackson, and, technically, Kerry Coombs, who joined Michigan before the bowl game.<\/p>\n

Kyle Whittingham replaced Moore as head coach and put together an excellent staff. He retained most of Michigan\u2019s key players and recruits while making some key additions in the transfer portal.<\/p>\n

Whittingham\u2019s first season won\u2019t be easy, with road trips to Ohio State and Oregon on top of Indiana, Oklahoma, Iowa, Penn State, and Michigan State coming to town.<\/p>\n

If I kept my mouth closed no one would know that I was apart of a scandal that impacted the team and impacted my chance to add to my production in college. Tried to stay at Michigan but the \u201cGM\u201d said there wasn\u2019t a roster spot for me. God has plans for us all and I can\u2019t wait to see where this journey takes me. Thank you Michigan \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udfff<\/p>\n

Targets vs non targets I was the best slot receiver for Michigan and I was treated unfairly due to Sherron Moore being Blackmailed by players and staff members. Which jeopardized my opportunity to get on the field. Fastest player on the team and I won reps everyday in practice. Only there for fall camp. Our team captains also advocated for me to play. I was denied fairness.<\/p>\n
