A TWO-TIME Super Bowl champion who was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs last season still has yet to join an NFL franchise.<\/p>\n

The player was part of two Chiefs<\/a>‘ Super Bowl-winning teams led by the iconic head coach Andy Reid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The NFL offseason is well underway as the new league year and free agency began in March.<\/p>\n

The 2025 NFL Draft<\/a> took place late last month as teams are getting ready for OTAs (Organized Team Activities) next week.<\/p>\n

However, there is one unemployed former Chiefs player who can only sit at home and wait for a phone call in hopes that it’s a team ready to sign him.<\/p>\n

Free agent running back La’Mical Perine remains without a team after being released by the Chiefs last May<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old last played with the Chiefs in the 2023 season.<\/p>\n

He appeared in three contests during that campaign as he was part of the Chiefs’ back-to-back Super Bowl champion teams in 2022 and 2023.<\/p>\n

Perine entered the league in 2020 as a fourth-round draft pick by the New York Jets.<\/p>\n

Since he arrived in the NFL, Perine hasn’t been able to earn a starting role.<\/p>\n

He scored his first NFL touchdown in October 2020 but saw his rookie campaign come to an end early due to injury.<\/p>\n

The Jets released Perine in 2022 and landed on two teams’ practice squads before joining the Chiefs.<\/p>\n

During his last season in Kansas City, he posted 22 rushing attempts for 77 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards.<\/p>\n

Perine was released by the Chiefs on May 17, 2024.<\/p>\n

Less than a week later, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> to a one-year deal.<\/p>\n

Perine was waived by the Steelers last August and a few days later signed to the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.<\/p>\n

However, he would be cut by the Packers in September 2024 and sign back with the Steelers a month later.<\/p>\n

But he would be released by the Steelers in late October.<\/p>\n

Perine didn’t play a single snap in the 2024 season.<\/p>\n

During his career, he has tallied 94 rushing attempts for 340 yards and two touchdowns, including 14 receptions for 96 receiving yards.<\/p>\n

He is the cousin of NFL linebacker Myles Jack and running back Samaje Perine, who spent time with the Chiefs last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n
