The Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> announced a smaller free-agent contract signing to start the week.<\/p>\n

Small, yet important: The Bengals have re-signed tight end Tanner Hudson<\/a> to a one-year contract extension.<\/p>\n

Many fans wanted to hear the Bengals<\/a> get a deal done with guard Dalton Risner first, and understandably so.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t sleep on the Hudson deal.<\/p>\n

Now 31 years old, Hudson has been with the Bengals since 2022 and made some important plays over the years. He\u2019s key depth at a spot where Mike Gesicki is a big slot receiver and Drew Sample is more of a blocker.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s one position of need reinforced well before free agency or the draft. Noah Fant is a free agent, too, but they also have Erick All Jr. on his rehab journey and Cam Grandy.<\/p>\n

With Hudson back in the fold, the Bengals have some robust depth at tight end and can fully focus elsewhere with their biggest resources.<\/p>\n
