It\u2019ll be a homecoming for Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza<\/a>, the Heisman Trophy winner<\/a>, who\u2019s playing for the title against a school that was less than a mile away from where he grew up in Miami. <\/p>\n

Miami coach Mario Cristobal<\/a> is a local, too, who came back home four years ago to lead his alma mater to a place it hasn\u2019t been in decades.<\/p>\n

The winner claims the national championship in the second year of the expanded 12-team CFP \u2014 a title that would be the first for Indiana and the sixth for Miami.<\/p>\n
