The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> and Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> have been named the top landing spots for a multiple-time Pro Bowl defender who was released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report’s\u00a0Joseph Zucker<\/a> believes Philadelphia and Jacksonville should pursue cornerback Trevon Diggs in the free agency market after he was let go by the Green Bay Packers.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Jacksonville Jaguars general manager James Gladstone referenced their need at corner with Greg Newsome, Montaric Brown and Christian Braswell, all hitting free agency. Diggs could provide some depth for the AFC South champions and perhaps aid in Hunter’s defensive development,” Zucker said of Diggs’ potential fit with the Jaguars.<\/p>\n

“The Eagles also jump out because Diggs, 27, is young enough to where he can take a short-term contract on a contender and rebuild his value before getting a bigger deal in 2027.\u00a0With Quinyon Mitchell on the outside and Cooper DeJean as the nickelback, Philly could take a flier on Diggs and see if he contributes in a big way again,” Zucker said of Diggs’ potential fit with the Eagles.<\/p>\n

2025 was a rough season for Diggs. He appeared in just nine games, eight with the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> and just one with the Packers<\/a>, and tallied just two tackles.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old missed time this year due to a concussion caused by a home accident while trying to set up a TV.<\/a> Diggs was released by the Cowboys<\/a>\u00a0late in the season and signed with the Packers<\/a>, where he didn’t make much of an impact.<\/p>\n

At this point in his career, Diggs isn’t capable of being a consistent starter and is best suited to be in a complementary role.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia and Jacksonville would both be logical landing spots, though the Eagles make more sense because Diggs would have a lesser role and get to be a nice veteran mentor in the team’s young defensive backs room.<\/p>\n
