The New York Jets<\/a> found themselves taking an indirect shot<\/a> this week from NFL insider Ian Rapoport following the news that former Jets head coach Robert Saleh has been hired by the Tennessee Titans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The comment was widely interpreted as a dig at the Jets, suggesting Saleh lacked adequate quarterback play during his tenure in New York. While it appeared to defend Saleh, the remark quickly drew pushback online.<\/p>\n

Rapoport\u2019s post was flagged with a community note on Elon Musk\u2019s platform, as users pushed to add additional context. The note now reads, \u201cSam Darnold was the QB for the NY Jets when Robert Saleh was hired as head coach. Saleh and GM Joe Douglas made the decision to trade him and draft Zach Wilson instead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson went on to start for three seasons in New York despite struggling to perform at an NFL level, ultimately being viewed as a draft bust. While Darnold had a career resurgence both in Minnesota and now in Seattle, where he will play in the NFC championship game on Sunday.<\/p>\n
