The outlet added that Daboll is a \u201ctop target\u201d for \u201cteam brass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/14\/sports\/brian-daboll-a-candidate-to-become-eagles-offensive-coordinator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Athletic reported<\/a> last week that Daboll and Mike McDaniel were expected to be at the top of the list of candidates for the vacancy. Nevertheless, McDaniel is now <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/20\/sports\/mike-mcdaniel-landing-chargers-offensive-coordinator-job-in-stunner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expected to take the Chargers\u2019 OC position<\/a> after taking his name out of the running for the Browns\u2019 head coaching job, ESPN reported Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.54682779;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38239859\" width=\"913\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/110225Giants079CW.jpg\" alt=\"Brian Daboll of the New York Giants on the sideline during the fourth quarter.\" class=\"wp-image-38239859\"  \/>Brian Daboll interviewed for the Eagles\u2019 offensive coordinator job. Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/p>\n<p>Daboll conducted an in-person interview with the Titans before they filled their head coaching vacancy <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/20\/sports\/titans-set-to-give-robert-saleh-second-chance-as-head-coach-after-failed-jets-tenure\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with ex-Jets coach Robert Saleh.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Before his stint with the Giants, Daboll was an offensive coordinator over eight different seasons with the Browns (2009-10), Dolphins (2011), Chiefs (2012) and Bills (2018-21). <\/p>\n<p>He went 20-40-1 before he was fired 10 games into the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p>His greatest statistical success came during his final two seasons in Buffalo when he helped lead a top-10 offense in scoring and yards as Josh Allen developed into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. <\/p>\n<p>The Eagles, one year removed from their Super Bowl domination over the Chiefs, lost in the wild-card round of the playoffs in a year where their offense sputtered and couldn\u2019t find any consistency. <\/p>\n<p>The team stripped Kevin Patullo of his offensive coordinator duties after just one season at the helm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator,\u201d Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said in a statement on Jan. 13. \u201cI met with Kevin today to discuss the difficult decision, as he is a great coach who has my utmost respect. He has been integral to this team\u2019s success over the last five years, not only to the on-field product but behind the scenes as a valued leader for our players and organization.
