HAMMOND \u2014 Former Southeastern Louisiana University defensive back Keydrain Calligan signed an undrafted free agent deal with the NFL\u2019s Houston Texans Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Calligan was signed after a recent workout with the reigning AFC South Division champions. The New Iberia native is one of two former Lions to sign an UDFA deal in 2025, as defensive end Warren Peeples signed with the NFC South champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers immediately following last month\u2019s draft.<\/p>\n
In his lone season in the green and gold, Calligan was a first team All-Southland Conference and All-Louisiana selection. Calligan stepped in as a starting cornerback and consistently drew the opposing team\u2019s top receiver. He finished with 39 tackles and four pass breakups. He intercepted a pass in the win over Lamar and recorded a season-high seven tackles in the victory over SFA.<\/p>\n
The Westgate High product started his collegiate career at Louisiana-Monroe before transferring to Jackson State for a season, ultimately settling at Southeastern.<\/p>\n
