The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> have been considering many candidates for their Kevin Patullo replacement. Some of their early favorites were Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll, according to reports.<\/p>\n

At this point, both candidates are likely out of the running. On Tuesday night, it was revealed that while McDaniel isn\u2019t a lock to sign on for an OC job just yet, the one he will take is the Los Angeles Chargers position.<\/p>\n

As for Daboll, the Eagles got bad news on that front on Wednesday. According to The Athletic\u2019s Dianna Russini, the Eagles are interviewing Daboll with the \u201cunderstanding\u201d that he wants the Buffalo Bills\u2019 head coaching job. If he doesn\u2019t get the opportunity to replace Sean McDermott, then the expectation is that he\u2019ll head to the Tennessee Titans to coach up the second-year quarterback, Cam Ward.<\/p>\n

Missing a Key Opportunity<\/p>\n

One of the biggest complaints about the Eagles\u2019 offense over the years has been the team\u2019s inability to have continuity at the coordinator position for Jalen Hurts.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not to say that Daboll had a low chance of being one-and-done, but at least the veteran quarterback would reunite with a coach he worked with during his days at Alabama. In this case, Hurts is likely to get a new coach to play for.<\/p>\n

Taking Daboll and McDaniel off the board, the Eagles still have a long list of candidates that they are reportedly considering. Former Washington Commanders coordinator Kliff Kingsbury was an early option, but he hasn\u2019t gained much traction lately.<\/p>\n

Some of the known candidates who interviewed are Zac Robinson from the Atlanta Falcons, Mike Kafka from the New York Giants, Jim Bob Cooter from the Indianapolis Colts, and Charlie Weis Jr. from LSU.<\/p>\n

At this point, it\u2019s unclear who the leader is for the Eagles\u2019 search. With McDaniel and Daboll practically out of the picture, the Eagles are beginning to trend towards taking a lower-profile coach. While that decision backfired last year, as the Eagles offered Patullo his first offensive coordinator gig, they can\u2019t simply let history dictate their next major decision.<\/p>\n

In the coming days, the Eagles should have more candidates moving up the favorite ladder, with others taking on different jobs. <\/p>\n
