(WKRN) \u2014 Antioch High School has gotten grant support from the Tennessee Titans \u2014 both on and off the field.<\/p>\n<p>After a challenging year, the team has stepped up to support the Bears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFootball, man \u2014 it\u2019s kind of a gateway into your next phase of life,\u201d AHS\u2019 head football coach, Arcentae Broome, said.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The Bears had their best football season in over a decade, sending some seniors off to play at the college level. However, in January, tragedy struck when a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/details-released-following-deadly-shooting-194702576.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:shooting;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shooting<\/a> on campus claimed one student\u2019s life, forcing the school into lockdown and shaking the community to its core.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.wkrn.com\/news\/local-news\/nashville\/antioch-hs-shooting\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Antioch High School Shooting | Continuing Coverage;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> Antioch High School Shooting | Continuing Coverage <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something we have tried to put behind us and put past us,\u201d Broome said. \u201cYou know, I think our kids are very resilient.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Tennessee Titans have stepped in \u2014 not just with words, but with actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see them on TV \u2026 The giving back part is letting young people know that [the Titans say] \u2018Man, we\u2019re invested in what you do,&#8217;\u201d Broome added.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s grants ranged from $1,500 to $5,000. The Tennessee Titans distributed over $100,000 in grants to 33 youth football organizations across Tennessee. Grants were awarded based on merit, need, and the organization\u2019s commitment to coaching education and best practices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing able to try to make the game a little bit safer and more accessible is something that we are always interested in, and we\u2019re really happy to have them as part of our grant program this year,\u201d Vice President of Cause Marketing for the Tennessee Titans, Josh Corey, said.<\/p>\n<p>But for AHS, the support went even further.
