What truly disappointed Burrow was the Bengals\u2019 continued absence from the NFL\u2019s growing list of international games. Since entering the league, Burrow and the Bengals have yet to appear in an overseas matchup\u2014something the quarterback has actively campaigned for through his off-field efforts.\u201cMaybe an international game next year, too,\u201d Burrow said. \u201cPart of the reason I wanted to do the quarterback show (is) I wanted to grow the game internationally. So to not have a stage like that is a little disappointing. I feel like I’ve consciously worked hard to try to grow the game internationally over the last 18 months or so. Hopefully at some point in my career we can go over there.\u201dBurrow\u2019s global ambitions aren\u2019t just lip service. He participated in a high-profile fashion event in Paris last offseason and has traveled extensively, reflecting a clear intent to connect with fans beyond U.S. borders. We are excited about our potential.\u201dGoodell estimates this goal could become reality \u201cwithin five years probably,\u201d aligning with rumors that the Bengals could play a home game overseas as soon as 2027. While speculation swirled about a possible game in Spain this season, that scenario didn\u2019t materialize.However, as the league continues to explore international expansion\u2014and as conversations around an 18-game season gain momentum\u2014stars like Joe Burrow and the Bengals are almost certain to headline future global showcases.
