The “Tush Push” will continue. The proposal to ban any sort of pushing or pulling ball carriers, which was expected to pass, did not get the necessary votes to pass.<\/p>\n
The Green Bay Packers<\/a> proposed the change for the annual league meeting in March, but the topic was tabled until this month when owners met. They amended the proposal to bring back the ban that existed until 2005 penalizing offensive players for pushing, pulling, lifting or throwing them at a ball carrier.<\/p>\n For owners to approve the ban, it required 24 votes. The proposal fell two votes short with 22.<\/p>\n The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> were one of the 22 teams to vote for the ban, which is surprising, as head coach Jonathan Gannon came from the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>, who are the team that has made the play famous and successful.<\/p>\n But it was not Gannon who voted.
