Green Bay Packers<\/a> star Rasheed Walker was arrested at New York’s LaGuardia Airport Friday after being caught with a handgun.<\/p>\n

The 6ft 6ins offensive tackle, 25, was found with the firearm by TSA agents on Friday afternoon before being taken into custody.<\/p>\n

That is according to the New York Post<\/a>, who claim\u00a0Port Authority police have\u00a0charged Walker with criminal possession of a weapon.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old reportedly appeared at Queens County Criminal Court on Friday before being released. He is due back in court in March.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the Post, Walker’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, said the gun is legally licensed in Wisconsin<\/a> – where Walker plays – and that the NFL star was unaware he could not travel with it in New York.<\/p>\n

‘It was in a locked box and he disclosed it to the people at the airport,’ Aidala explained. ‘He told a person from Delta he was traveling with a firearm. He mistakenly thought because he had a licensed firearm and it was in a locked box that he was able to travel with it. We are confident the case will be dismissed.’<\/p>\n

Walker has spent four seasons with the franchise since being selected out of Penn State with the 249th pick of the 2022 NFL draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The offensive tackle signed a four-year, $3.74m contract with Green Bay and has played in 52 games for the Packers. But he is headed for free agency.<\/p>\n

Walker started\u00a016 games for the Packers in the 2025 season, helping Matt LaFleur’s team reach the playoffs.\u00a0Green Bay was beaten in the Wild Card round by the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, meanwhile, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison had a trespassing allegation against him dropped after he was arrested earlier in January.<\/p>\n

Addison was arrested at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, Florida<\/a> at 3:45am on January 12, the\u00a0Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office said at the time, just one month after his DUI probation was terminated early.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But on Tuesday, after the criminal report made against him was reviewed, the Hillsborough County State Attorney Susan S. Lopez signed a ‘Notice of Termination of Prosecution’ document, dismissing the case.<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network, lawyers for Addison are now preparing to file a civil claim arising from what they allege is a wrongful arrest.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old Addison’s attorney was also quoted as saying in a statement: ‘As Mr. Addison\u2019s agent has advised, from the very outset of this incident and arrest, Mr. Addison committed no legal wrong doing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘We are thrilled that the truth was finally revealed and this poor man\u2019s name was not besmirched any longer. I am thankful we were able to bring this to light as quickly as possible.’<\/p>\n
