{"id":701284,"date":"2026-01-24T10:59:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T10:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/701284\/"},"modified":"2026-01-24T10:59:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-24T10:59:31","slug":"offensive-lineman-rob-havenstein-ruled-out-outside-linebacker-byron-young-questionable-but-expected-to-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/701284\/","title":{"rendered":"Offensive lineman Rob Havenstein ruled out; outside linebacker Byron Young questionable but expected to play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. \u2013 Although the Rams opened offensive lineman <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.therams.com\/team\/players-roster\/rob-havenstein\/\" title=\"Rob Havenstein\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Havenstein<\/a>&#8216;s practice window this week, Havenstein has been ruled out for Sunday&#8217;s NFC Championship Game against the Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle (3:30 p.m. PT, FOX).<\/p>\n<p>Havenstein&#8217;s 21-day window opened when he returned to practice Thursday, but head coach Sean McVay said the team &#8220;didn&#8217;t ever have any expectations of him playing this week.&#8221; Havenstein has made &#8220;great progress,&#8221; McVay said, &#8220;and in a lot of instances, it&#8217;s really to be able to say, all right, let&#8217;s get out on the field with your guys in a limited capacity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While outside linebacker <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.therams.com\/team\/players-roster\/byron-young\/\" title=\"Byron Young\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Byron Young<\/a> (knee) is listed as questionable, McVay said &#8220;our full expectation is that he&#8217;s playing.&#8221; Young was a limited participant in Friday&#8217;s practice, but McVay said that was because of the team taking a cautious approach with the edge rusher.<\/p>\n<p>For the Seahawks, starting left tackle Charles Cross (foot) carries no designation for Sunday, but second-string left tackle Josh Jones (knee\/ankle) is listed as questionable and third-string left tackle Amari Kight (knee) is listed as doubtful.
