The Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> might emerge from the NFL\u2019s hiring cycle unscathed after all.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zac Taylor\u2019s staff was under threat of losing offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That scenario could have opened the door for a Brian Callahan return to Cincinnati.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Instead, the Buccaneers announced<\/a> on Thursday that they have hired Atlanta coordinator Zac Robinson for that coordinator spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yes, that\u2019s the same former quarterback Zac Robinson who spent 2011-2013 with the Bengals<\/a>, by the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The hiring cycle is far from over at this stage. But Pitcher seemed to have the most traction with Tampa Bay. Barring a new development, he appears to be staying put.<\/p>\n

As for Callahan, he was also a candidate for the job in Tampa Bay. He\u2019s sure to get some interest elsewhere in the league, but it\u2019s worth keeping him in mind as a re-addition to Taylor\u2019s staff in some capacity if nothing else works out.\u00a0<\/p>\n
