Nick Sirianni reportedly fired Wilson<\/a> after hiring Sean Desai. Desai was then demoted in favor of Matt Patricia during the 2023 season and that was a total disaster.<\/p>\nThe Eagles ultimately landed Vic Fangio at defensive coordinator after originally intending him to replace Gannon in 2023 before that situation went sideways. So, it worked out on Philly\u2019s end.<\/p>\n
Wilson, meanwhile, parlayed a strong year as the Baltimore Ravens\u2019 defensive backs coach into a defensive coordinator job with the Tennessee Titans. Wilson\u2019s unit somehow ranked second (!) in yards but 30th in 2024 before ranking 21st and 28th, respectively, in 2025.<\/p>\n
I think it\u2019s fair to suggest that Wilson wasn\u2019t exactly set up for success in Tennessee considering how much of a dumpster fire that team has been. Based on his previous success in Philly and Baltimore, there\u2019s reason to believe he can be a nice hire for the Giants. If he does fare well, he could be in the head coaching conversation. Ditto for the aforementioned Parker.<\/p>\n
On one hand, the Eagles should be happy to see some of their former assistants doing well for themselves. They deserve these opportunities.<\/p>\n
But it\u2019s annoying that their success could potentially come at the expense of the Eagles.
