Prior to hiring Jesse Minter as their new head coach, the Ravens had blocked Horton from being available to depart for other teams. However, now that Minter has been hired, Horton is evidently free to go \u2014 signaling that Minter will be choosing a new special teams coordinator for his staff.<\/p>\n
Horton has been on the Ravens\u2019 coaching staff since 2014. He was the team\u2019s assistant special teams coordinator for four seasons before being promoted to special teams coordinator in 2019, which he\u2019s been in for the past six years. Given his strong relationship with Harbaugh and experience coaching under him, it\u2019s not a surprise that that he\u2019ll be following him to New York.<\/p>\n
The Ravens have had some very good special teams units over the years with Harbaugh and Horton at the helm, but they\u2019ve been shaky in some facets in recent years. Untimely missed kicks and penalties have been an issue over the past two seasons in particular.<\/p>\n
With Horton now gone and both Todd Monken and Zach Orr also not set to return, the Ravens\u2019 will have a reshaped coaching staff under Minter in 2026.
