Steelers hire Yinzer, Pittsburgher, former Pitt GA, which I am as Well.<\/p>\n

That’s kind of a little brotherhood we got.<\/p>\n

But that’s the, as far that’s the only overlap I think me and Mike McCarthy have.<\/p>\n

But Steelers hired him.<\/p>\n

Any angle here that where you like this?<\/p>\n

Where this is, like, something positive, short, medium, long-term?<\/p>\n

What are the first steps for this franchise to you?<\/p>\n

Matt, what are the next steps for this franchise?<\/p>\n

Is it re-signing Aaron Rodgers?<\/p>\n

Just sell some season tickets, I guess?<\/p>\n

I mean, I guess so.<\/p>\n

I, no, I can’t believe that I’ve spent the last, like, two weeks railing on.<\/p>\n

I don’t need to hear where anybody grew up, when it comes to- I know… Head coaching searches, and then the Steelers hired Mike McCarthy!<\/p>\n

I can’t believe that.<\/p>\n

I know.<\/p>\n

And that was like, I know…<\/p>\n

It was like, it seems to be that was 60% of the selling point.<\/p>\n

Which, by the way, the last time you guys did that.<\/p>\n

Last time you guys did that, Pittsburgh, that was when you drafted Kenny Pickett.<\/p>\n

Oh, he’s right next door!<\/p>\n

We looked all over- Just searched the whole world… And we found the guy next door, and he was right next door.<\/p>\n

Ugh.<\/p>\n

I think certain teams, like the Titans, had they landed on Mike McCarthy, it’s like, “Okay, we just need to get, like, a professional operation in here.<\/p>\n

A guy that’s been a head coach before, a guy that can put together an offense might fit Cam Ward,” I could kind of, like, squint and see that.<\/p>\n

Even if it’s not my favorite idea in the world.<\/p>\n

So, I think for certain teams, Mike McCarthy would’ve been okay.<\/p>\n

For this team, it’s just like, “Really, this is what we’re doing?”<\/p>\n

It, it actually really just reaffirms to me how much, whether Mike, Mike Tomlin clearly was the one who was ready to be done with Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Mm-hmm.<\/p>\n

And ready to be done potentially with coaching.<\/p>\n

Like, Jay Glazer has reported, like, “Mike, Mike Tomlin is done coaching.”<\/p>\n

Like, he’s not gonna go back.”<\/p>\n

And, you know, we’ll see about that.<\/p>\n

Um, right.<\/p>\n

We’ll see.<\/p>\n

Right.<\/p>\n

But that’s what people said about Bill Cowher.<\/p>\n

I remember.<\/p>\n

You know, I grew up as a Panthers fan, my whole family’s in North Carolina.<\/p>\n

And like, “Hey, you know- That’s a great call… Bill Cowher’s got a house on Lake Norman.<\/p>\n

Bill Cowher’s got a house right down here.<\/p>\n

He’ll be the Panthers coach someday.”<\/p>\n

And that never happened.<\/p>\n

He stayed in that- he stayed up on the pregame show forever and ever.<\/p>\n

And, pro- made pretty good money, had a good time doing it.<\/p>\n

So this really… Reaffirms to me that Mike Tomlin, He was the one that really 100% initiated this divorce.<\/p>\n

And the Steelers were not ready to get out of the cycle of mediocrity.<\/p>\n

And the cycle of like, “Okay, we’re just gonna be good enough to make the playoffs, and we’ll see,” because that’s kind of what you’re doing here by hiring Mike McCarthy.<\/p>\n
