The Jets have four restricted free agents. These are players with three years of NFL experience. These players will be free to seek offers from other teams. The Jets have the option to make these players a one year contract offer at a price that will be set before free agency. If the Jets offer that one year contract, they will have the right to match any offer the player signs with another team to keep the player. Depending on the size of the one year contract offered by the Jets, they might be entitled to Draft pick compensation if another team makes an offer for the player that the Jets choose not to match. If the Jets do not offer the one year contract, the player will become an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with any of the 32 teams in the league.<\/p>\n
