However, the NFL will host the annual Pro Bowl games first. Several Pittsburgh Steelers made the Pro Bowl roster. That included Jalen Ramsey, who earned the honor in his first year playing safety. However, a new update has revealed that Ramsey will no longer be attending the Pro Bowl. The Houston Texans announced that safety Calen Bullock will replace him.

Calen will be replacing Steelers S Jalen Ramsey and Kamari is replacing Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez

— Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) January 26, 2026

This isn’t uncommon. Ramsey isn’t even the first Steeler to withdraw from the Pro Bowl this year. It was previously announced that Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd would replace T.J. Watt in the Pro Bowl. Considering the injury Watt dealt with at the end of the 2025 season, that made a lot of sense.

However, it’s unclear why Ramsey will no longer participate. He didn’t seem to be dealing with any noticeable injury at the end of the season. There’s no telling if he had something ailing him, though. He has made seven Pro Bowls before, so perhaps he has had enough of the experience. Ramsey might see a more valuable use for his time.

It’s a little funny that Bullock is Ramsey’s replacement, too. Not only did the Texans knock the Steelers out of the playoffs, but Bullock put the cherry on top with a pick-six on Aaron Rodgers near the end of the game.

Bullock had a solid season overall, too. In his second NFL season, Bullock played in all 17 games and recorded four interceptions, 10 pass defenses, and a forced fumble. The Texans’ defense was the best in the NFL, and it already had three representatives going to the Pro Bowl. Now, Bullock and cornerback Kamari Lassiter will join them.

It’s unclear what Ramsey’s future will be with the Steelers. While he’s still under contract with the team, they’ll have a new coaching staff in place. That could result in Ramsey’s time in Pittsburgh coming to a close.

He had a solid 2025 season, especially considering that the Steelers moved him around the defense for half the year. However, he provided a lot of stability when he moved to safety full-time. Keeping him wouldn’t be a bad idea, but a new coaching staff makes things uncertain.

The Super Bowl matchup is set.
