Replacing Greg Roman, McDaniel made the news public on Monday morning that he will be making the switch to L.A.<\/p>\n<p>The Chargers made this announcement with a social media video that was posted on all platforms, stating, \u201cSup, Mike McDaniel, offensive coordinator for the Chargers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\" dir=\"ltr\"><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/puLqoEeiW5\">pic.twitter.com\/puLqoEeiW5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Los Angeles Chargers (@chargers) <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chargers\/status\/2015832035554951328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 26, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>McDaniel started off his NFL career under Mike Shanahan-led from the Denver Broncos as a coaching intern at the age of 22 in 2005. Since then, he has been with his fair share of teams, including the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n<p>He was the offensive coordinator for the 49ers until taking over the head coach position with the Miami Dolphins, where he had been coaching since 2022.
