Sam Darnold played through an injury in the Seattle Seahawks<\/a>\u2019 31-27 NFC championship win over the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> on Sunday. The 28-year-old quarterback injured his left oblique in practice ahead of the Seahawks\u2019 divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>. Darnold has been nursing the injury over the past two weeks.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald revealed that his star quarterback was feeling sore<\/a> after their victory over the Rams. Seattle submitted its first injury report ahead of Super Bowl<\/a> LX on Wednesday, and Darnold has been included.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks have less than two weeks to prepare for the big game against the New England Patriots<\/a> on Feb. 8.<\/p>\n

It did not look like Darnold was significantly bothered by his oblique injury against the Rams. The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback led the Seahawks with 25-of-36 completed passes for 346 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, adding nine yards on the ground on three carries.<\/p>\n

However, Darnold\u2019s oblique injury remains an issue heading to the Super Bowl. The Seahawks submitted their first injury report<\/a> ahead of the big game on Wednesday, and Darnold was listed as a limited participant.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that Wednesday\u2019s practice was an estimation. The Seahawks did not actually practice, but Darnold would have been a limited participant if they had.<\/p>\n

Darnold\u2019s status for the next few practice sessions will be worth monitoring. However, given how he has played through this injury throughout the playoffs, the reigning PFWA Most Improved Player winner is expected to be ready for the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

A few other names that pop up for Seattle on the injury report include LB Drake Thomas, FB Brady Russell, LB Ernest Jones and tackle Amari Knight, to name a few.<\/p>\n

The Patriots also provided their estimated injury report on Wednesday. Quarterback Drake Maye<\/a> was estimated as a limited participant due to a shoulder injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n
