This Los Angeles Rams loss to the Seattle Seahawks has been a disappointing one for the team and for the fans, but what makes this loss different from other losses under Sean McVay? This is the first time we have seen McVay fall in the NFC Championship Game.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve seen McVay and his team miss the playoffs, lose in the Wild Card Round, lose in the Divisional Round and the Super Bowl, but we\u2019ve never seen McVay and his boys falter in the Championship Game.<\/p>\n
This loss will forever be a \u201cWhat-if?\u201d because this team had the talent to make the Super Bowl, and don\u2019t take ANYTHING away from the Seattle Seahawks, but this L.A. team could\u2019ve made the SB, and they could\u2019ve won.<\/p>\n
Instead, Seattle sent them home, and it forever will be a what-if? or what could\u2019ve been? scenario for the Rams. And, no, this isn\u2019t a loss that should ruin anyone\u2019s life, but it is a loss that some may never fully get over because they\u2019ll always wonder, what-if?<\/p>\n

\u201cL.A. allowed 346 passing yards and three passing touchdowns to Sam Darnold in the conference title game after allowing 257 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional round. And in the season, the Rams ranked 19th in passing yards and passing touchdowns allowed.<\/p>\n
Now, armed with two first-round picks, the Rams can make some major updates in the secondary. Pro Football Focus\u2019 Dalton Wasserman picked two cornerbacks with each of L.A.\u2018s two first-round selections: Tennessee\u2019s Jermod McCoy with the No. 13 pick and Arizona State\u2019s Keith Abney II with the No. 29 pick.\u201c<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether or not the Rams re-sign Curl, the decision will not be based on what the Rams have already done with Lake because both players are safeties in name only. Lake is a safety but he\u2019s more of a slot corner\/ hybrid-linebacker, while Curl plays a variety of roles but often has to defend over the top.<\/p>\n
On top of that, no one outside of Kam Kinchens (periodically) plays as many snaps per game as Lake and Curl, making both men incredibly valuable to the Rams\u2019 defensive operation.\u201c<\/p>\n
