{"id":714830,"date":"2026-01-29T20:56:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T20:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/714830\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T20:56:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T20:56:18","slug":"ex-nfler-tyrann-mathieu-tried-using-bleach-to-pass-drug-test-it-did-not-go-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/714830\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-NFLer Tyrann Mathieu tried using bleach to pass drug test \u2014 it did not go well"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former NFL safety Tyrann Mathieu said he \u201ctried everything in the books\u201d to pass a drug test during his playing career at LSU, and recalled using \u201cfake penises\u201d and drinking bleach with Coca Cola. <\/p>\n<p>During Tuesday\u2019s installment of his <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/hoOCLN0GeYQ?si=eSIjYPDohDEylEcR\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cIn The Bayou\u201d<\/a> podcast, Mathieu explained that he got severely sick after he drank Coca Cola that was topped with bleach, a recipe he discovered while \u201cscrolling\u201d Google. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI done tried everything in the books. I\u2019ve used other people\u2019s urine, they got the fake penises. I\u2019ll tell you a funny story, not funny because I could\u2019ve died,\u201d Mathieu said while he reminisced on his LSU days. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut a couple tests before I realized they were going to kick me out of school\u2026 I\u2019m on Google trying to figure out how the f\u2013k and I going to pass this test They keep threatening me. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m scrolling and I come across some s\u2013t that says put some bleach on top of your Coca-Cola\u2026 and so I did that. It felt like my whole insides were erupting\u2026 I ended up throwing that s\u2013t up. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>The 5-foot-9 safety was dismissed from the team for \u201cviolation of team rules\u201d just a week into preseason training camp during his junior year in 2012. <\/p>\n<p>Mathieu and two other former Tigers players were arrested on drug-related charges in October 2012. <\/p>\n<p>It led to his rehab stint to get clean from substance abuse before entering the 2013 NFL Draft. <\/p>\n<p>In 26 games and 14 starts with the LSU, Matheiu created a total of 14 turnovers and scored four touchdowns. <\/p>\n<p>Mathieu owns the school record of 11 forced fumbles, which is four more than the previous record. <\/p>\n<p>Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu and teammates celebrate on the podium after winning Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on February 2, 2020.
