A reliable tackler throughout his career, which helped Boettcher limit pass catchers to only 6.0 yards per reception in 2025. He also logged an interception and three pass breakups.<\/p>\n
Owen Heinecke, Oklahoma<\/p>\n
A good run defender, who also generated 15 quarterback pressures and four sacks as a blitzer this past season. Heinecke had one pass breakup in coverage, but he did have a higher missed tackle rate.<\/p>\n
Xavian Sorey, Arkansas<\/p>\n
Sorey created 23 quarterback pressures in 2025. Compared to the other linebackers on this list, he wasn’t as productive as a run defender or in coverage.<\/p>\n
“Linebackers Bryce Boettcher, Owen Heinecke and Xavian Sorey were flying around practice as well,” added Sikkema. “Not to say these guys will be top-50 picks, but they were showing the kind of tenacity and violent coaches love to see from the position.
