The Buffalo Bills<\/a> are heading into a new era with Joe Brady as the head coach.<\/p>\n

They likely will have a lot of cohesiveness, though, with plenty of players under contract for a while.<\/p>\n

That includes Dalton Kincaid, who just completed the third season of his rookie deal after being a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

This is the part in Kincaid’s timeline where the Bills have to decide on his fifth-year option, which in this case will apply to the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

According to Spotrac<\/a>, the Bills “appear poised to pick up” the option, which they project at $8.73 million for the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

That certainly makes sense for Buffalo, which wouldn’t gain much by getting rid of Kincaid after 2026 without first letting him play that option season for the Bills, too.<\/p>\n

Kincaid had his best season as a rookie in 2023, when he caught 73 passes for 673 yards.<\/p>\n

That declined to 44 grabs for 448 yards in 2024.<\/p>\n

In 2025, he had even fewer catches, 39, but put up 571 yards (career-high 14.6 ypc) and had five touchdowns, which was more than the four he had in his first two seasons combined.<\/p>\n

Kincaid isn’t much of a blocker, so he has a somewhat one-dimensional role in the Bills’ offense, but he’s still a playmaker for the playcaller Brady and superstar QB Josh Allen.<\/p>\n

Buffalo can rely on Kincaid for at least the next two seasons, it appears, before having to make any bigger decisions about his future.<\/p>\n
