Somewhere on Davis Islands, Baker Mayfield is laughing at today\u2019s fresh rumor\/report<\/a> that pending free agent Mike Evans is thinking of moving on from the Buccaneers.<\/p>\n

Mayfield was asked to make a plea for Evans to return to the Bucs on yesterday\u2019s edition of The Rond\u00e9 Barber Show, a WFLA streaming<\/a> property.<\/p>\n

Mayfield said it\u2019s unnecessary.<\/p>\n

\u201cMike\u2019s too much of a competitor and cares too much about Tampa to end his career without 1,000 yards, without a division championship, without a playoff run,\u201d Mayfield said. \u201cFirst of all, that just speaks to who Mike is, but that\u2019s the truth. And you know he doesn\u2019t want to do that. You can just kind of feel it. Listen, I don\u2019t have any info. I\u2019ve told Mike, \u2018This is your decision. Take your time doing it.\u2019 But understanding who Mike is, this is my guess \u2014 that he doesn\u2019t want to end it that way. He knows the potential [in Tampa] if we\u2019re able to stay a little bit more healthy. Zac [Robinson] will do great things for us and we\u2019ll go from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Mike\u2019s got more in the tank. You could tell with the energy, the fire he had at the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commenting on Evans\u2019 football tank potentially being close to empty, Mayfield said it\u2019s \u201cnot even close.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Joe wrote, If Evans\u2019 really is thinking hard about another team, the Bucs have the franchise tag<\/a> at their disposal.
