The Cowboys<\/a> interviewed three coaches on Thursday for vacant assistant coaching positions, a person with knowledge of the process told The Dallas Morning News.<\/p>\n

DeSoto native Zach Orr,<\/a> who spent the previous two seasons as the Baltimore Ravens\u2019 defensive coordinator, interviewed for a linebackers position. Orr, who played at North Texas<\/a>, has been an NFL coach for nine seasons.<\/p>\n

Robert Livingston, the University of Colorado defensive coordinator the last two seasons, interviewed for safety coach. Livingston worked for 12 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before moving to Colorado. He signed a contract extension last year that made him the highest-paid assistant coach in school history at $1.55 million per season.<\/p>\n

Also, Ryan Smith, the Arizona Cardinals\u2019 cornerbacks coach, interviewed with club officials. Smith spent three seasons with the Cardinals. Smith is close to a deal with the Cowboys.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Cowboys are replacing four defensive coaches under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker. <\/a><\/p>\n

Defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton left to take a similar position with the Tennessee Titans.<\/a><\/p>\n

Cowboys officials interviewed Marcus Dixon for a defensive line role<\/a> but haven\u2019t finalized a deal. <\/p>\n

Cornerbacks coach David Overstreet II, linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi and safety coach Andre Curtis were let go last week<\/a> as part of a shakeup with the coaching staff. <\/p>\n

So far, the Cowboys\u2019 offensive staff remains the same. <\/p>\n

Tight ends coach Lunda Wells has interviewed with the New York Jets and Washington Commanders for an offensive coordinator position. He spoke with the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> for the same position on Thursday. <\/p>\n

According to ESPN<\/a>, Scott Tolzien, who coached with the Cowboys for five seasons, was also expected to interview with the Steelers under new coach Mike McCarthy. McCarthy coached for five seasons with the Cowboys before departing.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys denied the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> permission to interview offensive coordinator Klayton Adams. <\/p>\n

The Cowboys have the right to deny Adams an opportunity to interview for a position that\u2019s considered a lateral move, regardless if he\u2019s calling the offensive plays or not.<\/p>\n
