{"id":715690,"date":"2026-01-30T04:53:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T04:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/715690\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T04:53:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T04:53:18","slug":"ex-49er-brent-jones-reacts-to-bill-belichicks-hall-of-fame-snub-nbc-sports-bay-area-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/715690\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-49er Brent Jones reacts to Bill Belichick\u2019s Hall of Fame snub \u2013 NBC Sports Bay Area &#038; California"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The news that former New England Patriots coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsbayarea.com\/nfl\/bill-belichick-hall-of-fame-omission\/1910669\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Belichick did not make the Pro Football Hall of Fame<\/a> in his first year of eligibility has caused quite a massive storm within the sports community.<\/p>\n<p>Ex-49ers tight end Brent Jones recently weighed in on Belichick\u2019s Hall of Fame snub.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand that he certainly might have angered some media members over the years,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/bill-belichicks-hall-fame-omission-draws-sharp-reaction-from-49ers-legend\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jones told Fox News Digital.<\/a> \u201cAnd I think to punish him for one year, unfortunately, I think puts a little stain on the Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[For] a guy that has eight Super Bowl rings, it doesn\u2019t even sound real. I have three [Super Bowl wins] and I think that\u2019s outrageous, and I can\u2019t even imagine eight. He\u2019s gonna get in, obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Belichick fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction, ESPN\u2019s Don Van Natta Jr. and Seth Wickersham reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The two cheating scandals, Spygate and Deflategate, that surfaced during Belichick\u2019s Patriots tenure reportedly came up during deliberations among the voters.
