Green Bay Packers<\/a> quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion has been tapped to replace fired Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo in Philadelphia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old Mannion is a former NFL backup quarterback who takes over an offense that is one year removed from a Super Bowl<\/a> win, but coming off a disappointing season both on the ground and through the air.<\/p>\n

‘My goal throughout this process was to operate with an open mind regarding the future of our offense to find the best fit for the Eagles,’ coach Nick Sirianni said in a press release. ‘Over the last few weeks, I had an opportunity to meet with a number of talented candidates and great offensive minds.<\/p>\n

‘I am appreciative of the time I was able to spend with each of them. Some came with years of experience running an offense and calling plays. Others were young, sharp, and dynamic coaches on the rise. I felt it was important to be patient and thorough to allow the right fit to reveal himself to us. Sean did just that.’<\/p>\n

Mannion has been an assistant in Green Bay for the last two seasons as quarterback Jordan Love developed into a solid passer.<\/p>\n

A San Jose native who played collegiately at Oregon<\/a> State, Mannion was a backup quarterback for the Rams and Vikings between 2015 and 2021. He also had a brief stint with the Seattle Seahawks<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kevin Patullo faced significant criticism in Philadelphia before getting fired earlier this month<\/p>\n

Now-former Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was named head coach in New Orleans<\/a> after last year’s Super Bowl win and replaced with Patullo, who faced considerable criticism in 2025.<\/p>\n

Despite the returns of quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia’s offense finished 19th in scoring and just 24th in yardage – worse than all but two playoff teams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And those offensive issues didn’t go anywhere in the Eagles’ 23-19 home defeat to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round.<\/p>\n

Along the way, Patullo’s house was egged by angry fans, as seen in viral video taken at the $1.3 million property.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Later in December, a young Eagles fan went viral<\/a> by telling Philadelphia’s ABC affiliate Patullo should be ‘flipping burgers at the local McDonald’s or something.’<\/p>\n

The Eagles interviewed former Giants coach Brian Daboll for the offensive coordinator position, but he ultimately took the same role with Robert Saleh’s new coaching staff in Tennessee.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
