One NFL analyst believes that the Indianapolis Colts<\/a> should swing big when it comes to addressing the linebacker position this offseason and sign one of the top defenders from a division rival.<\/p>\n Ryan Smith of Pro Football Focus<\/a> highlighted each NFL’s team’s top need and then picked one player — either a free agent or a draft pick — that could fill the void.<\/p>\n When it came to the Colts<\/a>, Smith selected linebacker as their top need. While I agree, it’s a pressing need, I would have selected defensive end as Indianapolis’ top priority. But that’s a story for another day.<\/p>\n So, which player does Smith believe could fill this need for the Colts? The Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> Devin Lloyd.<\/p>\n Lloyd put together a career year in 2025, earning second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.<\/p>\n Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.<\/a><\/p>\n He did a bit of everything for that defense, generating pressure as a blitzer, providing a stout presence against the run, and holding his own in coverage.<\/p>\n When it was all said and done, Lloyd totaled 25 pressures as a blitzer during the regular season and ranked 11th among linebackers in\u00a0PFF’s run defense grade.<\/a><\/p>\n In coverage, he recorded five interceptions and two pass breakups.<\/p>\n Lloyd has earned himself a big payday this offseason. According to\u00a0Spotrac<\/a>, Lloyd is projected to land a three-year contract worth $60.4 million.<\/p>\n
