Another team has emerged as a potential landing spot for Indianapolis Colts’<\/a> offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.<\/p>\n

It was reported by Jeremy Fowler<\/a> that Cooter had interviewed in-person with the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> for their offensive coordinator opening.<\/p>\n

Now, Peter Schrager has reported that the New York Giants<\/a> are also expressing interest in Cooter for their offensive coordinator vacancy.<\/p>\n

Cooter and the Giants will meet to discuss the opening. John Harbaugh was hired this offseason to be the Giants’ next head coach.<\/p>\n

Cooter already holds the title of offensive coordinator with the Colts<\/a>. However, one likely difference between that role and these two openings is that the Eagles’ and Giants’ jobs would come with play-calling duties, providing Cooter with a step up in responsibility.<\/p>\n

With that said, the NFL views this as a lateral move if Cooter were to get one of these jobs, since he’d be going from offensive coordinator to offensive coordinator. So Shane Steichen has to give Cooter the go-ahead to pursue these outside opportunities, according to\u00a0SI’s Albert Breer.<\/a><\/p>\n

This season, the Colts’ offense finished eighth in\u00a0points per game<\/a>\u00a0scored and eighth in yards per play.<\/p>\n

Through the first half of the season, the Colts had one of the most productive offenses in football, with a scheme that was hard to defend.<\/p>\n
