The Cleveland Browns have such an interesting quarterback situation that everyone wants in the prediction game.<\/p>\n
Cleveland completely turned over their quarterback room from last year with the exception of Deshaun Watson, who, although progressing in his recovery from two torn Achilles tendons since October, isn’t expected to play in 2025.<\/p>\n

Gone are Jameis Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Bailey Zappe, and in are veteran free agents Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, as well as draftees Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.<\/p>\n
Television host Colin Cowherd believes he knows which one will take over the starring role.<\/p>\n
“I believe this, that Dillon Gabriel was a reach. I don’t think he is an NFL QB of note.\u00a0I think Shedeur’s gonna win the job. I don’t think he’s great, but I think he’s accurate, and he moves well enough.”<\/p>\n
What Cowherd seems to be forgetting is that Gabriel and Sanders aren’t the only two players competing for the job. And while one of them might take over eventually, it’s much more likely that one of the veterans, Flacco or Pickett, will win the job first.<\/p>\n

Gabriel finished third in Heisman Trophy voting last season and threw for 3,857 yards and 30 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 72.9 percent of his passes<\/p>\n
Sanders was eighth in Heisman voting and threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns to 13 interceptions while completing 74 percent of his passes.<\/p>\n
It’s going to be a fun battle to watch, even with the veterans thrown in there. Pickett is still trying to establish himself as a starter in the NFL after landing on his third team in his fourth season in the league.<\/p>\n
Flacco is attempting to put one more Super Bowl season together to end his career as a 40-year-old before he hangs up his cleats in retirement.<\/p>\n
