Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/overthecap.com\/salary-cap-space\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Over the Cap;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Over the Cap<\/a> has Indianapolis with $34.91 million in available cap space for the upcoming offseason. This is the 12th most in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>That figure can fluctuate up or down, depending on where the cap lands in that reported range.<\/p>\n<p>The opportunity for GM Chris Ballard to further reshape the Colts&#8217; roster in free agency does seem to exist, given the team&#8217;s salary cap situation.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>When owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon spoke with the media after the season, she mentioned how\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/articles\/why-indianapolis-colts-retained-gm-224118343.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Ballard adapted;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ballard adapted<\/a>\u00a0his roster-building approach, which included being more aggressive.<\/p>\n<p>Ballard then\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/articles\/notes-chris-ballards-press-conference-150505254.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:seemed to acknowledge;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">seemed to acknowledge<\/a>\u00a0that continuing down that path was going to be the plan this offseason.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the defensive side of the ball, specifically, seems to be a big priority for the Colts this offseason.<\/p>\n<p>Like every other team, Ballard can also create more cap space by pushing current year&#8217;s cap charges to future seasons.
