\u201cYou know, [Robinson] was a guy that when I first met him in person in L.A., growing up an Oklahoma fan, I used to watch all their games,\u201d Mayfield said. \u201cSo I watched him play at Oklahoma State and he was lighting it up. And then just getting to L.A., you know I already had a respect for him in terms of the football aspect, but not knowing how he would be as a coach.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Robinson is] real laid back but he\u2019s got a fire within him. So like he comes off as very monotone [and] chill, but if you make him angry, there\u2019s a switch that flips. And I was like, \u2018Ok, there is something in there that I like.\u2019 And just getting to know him then and him having to obviously tutor me on the fly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Interesting to hear Mayfield say he likes a fire in his coach. Did he see that \u2014 or not see it \u2014 in fired fall guy offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard? Does he see that in Todd Bowles that fans rarely do?<\/p>\n
