The Las Vegas Raiders are going the route of a young, offensive-minded , first-time head coach.<\/p>\n
According to several reports, the Raiders are hiring Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to be their next head coach, replacing Pete Carroll who was fired after just one season in Las Vegas. It can not become official until after next Sunday\u2019s Super Bowl, but that\u2019s where it\u2019s headed.<\/p>\n
Barring a complete, unexpected breakdown, the Raiders got their guy.<\/p>\n
In the end, it is not a surprise Kubiak was the choice for the Raiders, who interviewed more than a dozen candidates in the past few weeks. The team was focusing on offensive-minded coaches who would be a first-time NFL head coach. Kubiak falls into that category.<\/p>\n
Kubiak, who turns 39 on February 17, was the Seahawks\u2019 offensive coordinator 2025 and was wildly successful. Previously, he served in the same position with the New Orleans Saints and coached former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr in 2024 and with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. He has 12 seasons experience as an NFL coach.<\/p>\n
Kubiak is the son of Denver Broncos Super Bowl-winning head coach Gary Kubiak and and the brother of San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak, who also interviewed with the Raiders.<\/p>\n
Reportedly, Raiders\u2019 part owner Tom Brady, who helped lead the search, was a big fan of Klint Kubiak and he called several of the Seahawks\u2019 games this season for Fox.<\/p>\n
