In his first season with the New York Giants<\/a>, quarterback Jaxson Dart<\/a> put together strong numbers. He completed 216 of 339 passes for 2,272 yards<\/a>, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 487 yards and nine touchdowns.<\/p>\n

The first-round pick out of Ole Miss<\/a> is even a finalist<\/a> for the Associated Press’ Offensive Rookie of the Year award. However, the Giants have seen considerable change during his short time in New York.<\/p>\n

Brian Daboll was fired on Nov. 10 following a 2-8 start. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka then filled in as the interim head coach for the rest of the season. Now going into 2026, the Giants have hired former Baltimore Ravens<\/a> head coach John Harbaugh as the team’s next head coach.<\/p>\n

With hopes of Dart establishing himself as the team’s next franchise quarterback, stability is key. During an interview<\/a> with the Associated Press’ Rob Maaddi, he gave his thoughts on playing under Harbaugh.<\/p>\n

“I can’t wait,” Dart said. “I’ve had a lot of conversations with Coach before he had the job finalized, and at points where we were just talking in a room and the room had to get dispersed just because of how long we were talking. So, he’s a coach that you know I just am really excited to play for, from obviously, you know, his resume from a coaching standpoint, but just him as a person.”<\/p>\n

Harbaugh does bring an impressive amount of experience to the Giants. He spent 18 seasons as the Ravens’ head coach, going 180-113 in the regular season. He also went 13-11 in the playoffs, capping off the 2012 season with a Super Bowl<\/a> win.<\/p>\n

With Dart under center, he and Harbaugh are looking to help the Giants achieve their first winning record and playoff appearance since the 2022 season.<\/p>\n
