{"id":724880,"date":"2026-02-02T23:40:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T23:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/724880\/"},"modified":"2026-02-02T23:40:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T23:40:11","slug":"former-panthers-qb-will-grier-lands-back-with-cowboys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/724880\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Panthers QB Will Grier lands back with Cowboys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Feb. 2, 2026, 5:59 p.m. ET<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">A familiar name has gone back to a familiar home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">As announced on Monday, former <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/carolina-panthers\/364\" data-autotag=\"8afac4d1-41b4-4302-b154-b45f5b48a0d2\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Carolina Panthers<\/a> quarterback Will Grier has signed with the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/dallas-cowboys\/331\" data-autotag=\"7af2161d-a8dd-41a5-87e2-32eb5b028473\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a> on a reserve\/future deal. Grier, whose first two NFL seasons came in Carolina, now returns to Dallas\u2014where he spent parts of 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The Panthers <a href=\"http:\/\/pantherswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/panthers\/2019\/04\/26\/panthers-2019-nfl-draft-will-grier-pick-100\/80298409007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">selected<\/a> Grier, a West Virginia University standout, in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Davidson, N.C. native would go on to start in the team&#8217;s final two games of that year, completing 28 of his 52 throws for 228 yards and four interceptions in a pair of losses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Grier was then waived prior to the start of the 2021 regular season.
