Adam Schefter<\/a>, the Ravens are expected to hire former Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver to the same position. Weaver previously worked for the Ravens from 2021 to 2023 in various roles, including assistant head coach.<\/p>\nWeaver was one of the most popular head coaching candidates this hiring cycle. He interviewed with the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers for their head coach openings.<\/p>\n
Upon joining Miami’s staff under Mike McDaniel in 2024, Weaver’s impact was immediate. He helped the team finish fourth in the NFL with 314.3 yards allowed per game in his first year in the position. The Dolphins struggled on both sides of the ball this year, finishing with a 7-10 record before McDaniel and his staff were let go.<\/p>\n
In addition to coaching in Baltimore for three years, Weaver was a former NFL defensive end and spent the first four years of his playing career with the Ravens from 2002 to 2005 after being drafted with a second-round pick. All but one of his 15.5 career sacks came in a Baltimore uniform.<\/p>\n
Minter was hired to replace John Harbaugh after spending the last two years as the defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
