They split the season series 1-1, but Chicago used an incredible fourth quarterback comeback in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs to send their oldest rivals home early. Not only that, but the Bears won the NFC North division over the second-place Packers.

Now that the off-season has started, both teams are looking at ways that they can improve their rosters ahead of 2026. Typically, the two franchises do not do business with each other due to their old bitter rivalry.

However, one NFL analysts suggests that Chicago could land a player Green Bay may no longer be interested in keeping.

Chicago Bears encouraged to trade for Green Bay Packers pass rusher Rashan Gary
Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons (1) and defensive end Rashan Gary (52) pressure Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams (18) on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. They do not have a first round pick after trading their next two first rounders to the Dallas Cowboys for Micah Parsons.

That being said, if the Bears were to make the offer, the Packers would probably ask for a higher pick as part of the unofficial “division tax.”

Additionally, it is not really within the realm of possibility that Green Bay would trade Gary to Chicago anyway.

What is more, Gary is likely going to be a cap casualty when the new league year begins next month. If the Bears really wanted Gary, they could wait and sign him for far less than the $18.5 million they would have to pay him if they traded for him.

Of course, they would have to compete with other teams in free agency. However, they could lure him to Chicago by giving him the opportunity to play against Green Bay twice a year.

For More Chicago Sports

Follow me on Twitter at @theotherRobin19, and follow us @ChiCitySports23.
