Brown Has Obvious Landing Spot if Traded

Speculation surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles’ long-term future with A.J. Brown continues to grow as the offseason is here, as few moves would make a bigger difference in the league than trading him. While the Eagles should have a chance to win it all in 2026, many have begun to acknowledge that the situation between the star receiver and the franchise isn’t where it needs to be.

Those questions are what led Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine to explore possible landing spots if Philadelphia ultimately decides to move him. Among the teams that make sense, the New England Patriots have been a squad that’s shown interest in the past, and he named them again as a suitor.

“There are bound to be plenty of teams interested if the Philadelphia Eagles decide to make a A.J. Brown available. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported there’s a belief around the league that Brown could be on the move this offseason due to a deteriorating relationship between the receiver and the franchise. The Patriots should be among the top teams to call if that happens. Stefon Diggs was a huge part of their passing game this season, but he is 32 years old with two more expensive years on his contract if they don’t release or trade him.

“Dealing for Brown would be a way to ensure that Drake Maye has a dynamic No. 1 receiver and his remaining contract would actually be very team-friendly,” he wrote.

The Patriots finally believe they have their quarterback of the future in Drake Maye, and it’s tough to argue, as he’s headed to a Super Bowl. While Stefon Diggs is a nice veteran presence, he’s far from what Brown is at this stage of their careers.

At 28 years old, he remains in his prime and has already proven he can be that guy. On the flip side, Brown is also someone the Patriots might not want to deal with.

The idea of moving Brown would be questionable but not unlikely, if that makes sense. With internal tensions at a high, as reported by many, the front office may at least explore what Brown’s market looks like.

Speculation surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles’ long-term future with A.J.
