In a time when the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> might need every wide receiver they have on the roster to pitch in one way or another, they just let one walk out the door.<\/p>\n Former second round pick Terrace Marshall<\/a> Jr.\u2019s agency announced he\u2019d signed with the Miami Dolphins<\/a> on Wednesday after spending the 2025 season with the Eagles.<\/p>\n \u201cCongratulations to our very own Terrace Marshall Jr. on signing a contract with the Miami Dolphins,\u201d Elite Loyalty Sports wrote on its official X account. \u201cGood luck in South Florida, TMJ.\u201d<\/p>\n Marshall, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, was a 2021 second round pick (No. 59 overall) by the Carolina Panthers<\/a> and didn\u2019t play in any regular season games for the Eagles, spending the entire time on the practice squad.<\/p>\n \u201cDolphins are signing former Eagles WR Terrace Marshall to a Reserve\/Future Contract,\u201d OTR Victory\u2019s Jimmy Smith<\/a> wrote on X.<\/p>\n Eagles Brought Marshall Back Late in Season<\/p>\n The Eagles signed Marshall to the practice squad on Monday, December 1, ahead of their Week 14 Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cEagles signed WR Terrace Marshall to their Practice Squad,\u201d\u00a0ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>\u00a0wrote on his official X account.<\/p>\n Marshall, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, signed a 1-year, $1.195 million contract with the Eagles in April and made it to the final roster cuts on August 26. The December signing was his third stint on the practice squad with the Eagles last season.<\/p>\n With 5 regular season games left, Marshall could have been on the roster for 3 games before the Eagles have to elevate him to the 53-man roster.<\/p>\n \u201cEagles bringing back Terrace Marshall to the practice squad is the kind of low key move that wins championships,\u201d\u00a0Marcus Burelius wrote<\/a>\u00a0on his official X account. \u201cDude ran a 4.38 at his pro day and still has that LSU explosion. People gave up on him way too fast just because Carolina never used him right. Philly already has the best receiver room in football and now they add another freak athlete for free. Other teams must hate watching Howie Roseman work. This roster is straight up unfair at this point.<\/p>\n Eagles Hoped Marshall Could Be WR3 Option<\/p>\n Marshall got somewhat of a fresh start after spending the first 4 seasons of his career on some truly terrible teams in 3 seasons with the\u00a0Carolina Panthers<\/a>\u00a0and one season with the\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>\u00a0in 2024.<\/p>\n The Athletic\u2019s Brooks Kubena<\/a>\u00a0singled Marshall out during minicamp after he made several big catches against cornerbacks\u00a0Cooper DeJean<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Adoree Jackson<\/a>.<\/p>\n Still, it was going to be difficult for Marshall to crack the lineup with stars A.J. Brown<\/a> and DeVonta Smith<\/a> in the top 2 spots followed by another former first round pick, Jahan Dotson, as the third starting wide receiver.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Panthers were dreadful while Marshall failed to find his footing during his three-year tenure there, and, after they cut him in training camp last year, he saw nominal playing time after finding work with the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> in October,\u201d Kubena wrote on June 11. \u201cCan Marshall revamp his career in Philly?
