There’s only one performance on this list that’s been commemorated with a statue. That alone makes it worthy of a high spot, but Foles also earned his placement here with one of the most truly stunning performances in the history of the sport. The Eagles backup went throw for throw with the greatest to ever do it and then played a role in the most famous play call ever made in a Super Bowl. Sure, many quarterbacks have thrown game-winning touchdowns, but Foles is still the only one to ever catch one.Foles made plenty of impressive throws, too. He finished the game with 11 completions of at least 10 air yards, tying him with Tom Brady (in the same game) for the most in a Super Bowl since 2000. And Foles made that happen with a solid but unspectacular receiving corps led by Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and Torrey Smith. With Brady playing a nearly perfect game, the Eagles needed the journeyman backup to carry them. He did just that. [BLG Note: Jalen Hurts also appears at 4th and 7th on this list.]

NFL Mock Draft 2026: Eagles 7-round simulation, Version 3.0 – BGN
T.J. Not only are neither a sure thing, the Eagles are also potentially losing Jaelan Phillips to free agency. It wouldn’t be crazy for the team to go out and find a rookie who can contribute on day one rushing the passer. T.J. Parker is a stout, athletic defender who can play every down for the Eagles defense. He is a strong run defender and has a ton of juice getting after the passer. With 24 sacks in three years starting, he could do a better job converting pressures into sacks but his production could look much better as part of a deep rotation in Philly.

2026 Pro Bowl Games: What We Learned from NFC’s 66-52 win – NFL.com
1) Cowboys, Eagles lead NFC to comeback win. NFC East rivals banding together for game-winning plays? Only in the Pro Bowl Games. Star players from Dallas and Philadelphia put aside their regular season differences to spearhead a dramatic comeback for the NFC on Tuesday night in San Francisco. A whopping four Cowboys players combined to catch five TDs with KaVontae Turpin, George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb nabbing the final three scores of the game as the NFC roared back from a 52-36 third-quarter deficit to improve to 4-0 in this iteration of the Pro Bowl Games. In the second half, NFC coach Jerry Rice deployed a two-QB system of Jalen Hurts (three TD passes on the night) and Dak Prescott (four TDs) that proved tough for the AFC to stop. On consecutive drives in the second half, Hurts took a red zone snap, quickly pitched the ball to Prescott, who found a Dallas receiver for six. The second of those plays resulted in a Pickens TD that gave the NFC its first lead since the opening stanza and led to Pickens claiming Offensive MVP honors. The AFC had a chance to tie the game on the ensuing possession, but Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. intercepted Joe Burrow in the end zone to end the AFC’s last threat of the game — a play that earned Winfield Defensive MVP.

MVPs Antoine Winfield Jr., George Pickens lead NFC Pro Bowl win – ESPN
Not only does defense win championships, it also wins Pro Bowls. Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. jumped a route to intercept Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with four minutes to go Tuesday night to seal the NFC’s 66-52 comeback win against the AFC in the league’s third Pro Bowl flag football game. At the time of Winfield’s pick, the AFC was down by eight points and driving to tie the game. Instead, Winfield gave the momentum back to the NFC, which put an exclamation point on the game with a final score from Jalen Hurts to CeeDee Lamb with 24 seconds left.

Jets are hiring Frank Reich as offensive coordinator – Gang Green Nation
Reich served as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2018 through 2022 and the Carolina Panthers in 2023. His new life with the Patriots has him back in the Super Bowl. – Inquirer
Christian Elliss was cut from an NFL roster six times in the first three seasons of his career — five times by the Eagles. The last one, on Dec. 6, 2023, stung the most. “I remember just [being] on the phone with my dad crying,” Elliss said. “I was like, ‘Dad, that’s the one that really broke me.’ Because I thought I was playing well. I knew I had the talent to play, but for whatever reason … I can’t remember.” The reasons were complex. The Eagles were reeling and injuries and subpar play at linebacker had forced general manager Howie Roseman to sign veteran Shaquille Leonard. Elliss played mostly on special teams, but he was viewed as the low man at the linebacker position and was waived. “Howie and who’s the head man over there …,” Elliss said before being reminded that Nick Sirianni was the Eagles’ head coach. “ … and Nick, for whatever reason, they didn’t see me as a piece for them. It’s the hire of defensive coordinator Christian Parker. The Cowboys broke with some recent traditions with this hire. And like the inches you need in football, the numbers you need to win are all around you, whether you are watching on television or coaching from the sideline. Whether on a fourth-down decision, the discussion of metrics such as Expected Points Added (EPA) or Completion Percentage Over Expectation (CPOE) or in some other fashion, numbers have become commonplace in today’s NFL. The Seattle Seahawks are in the Super Bowl with one of the league’s best defenses on their side.
